Growing your teams is one of the hardest things you have to do as a manager, but you can’t grow a team without nurturing your own skills as a leader. In this workshop, we will focus on the personal mindset changes that need to occur from when you’re managing a small team, to when you’re growing and managing larger ones.

We’ll arm you with communication tools for this future, use case studies to embed your newfound knowledge, and give you example situations where you’ll work with your peers and practice implementing these skills.

You’ll leave the day with strategies and techniques for:

  • Growing and quadrupling your team in a year
  • Deconstructing the mindsets that get in the way of scaling
  • Unlocking team communication as a tool to accelerating shared understanding
  • Fostering global and cultural inclusion
  • Gaining greater confidence moving forward when the stakes are high
  • Scaling yourself as a leader alongside your teams
  • Understanding the development of your role as your company grows

During the day, you’ll participate in interactive exercises that will allow you to convert the day’s learnings into practical actions. You’ll leave the day with new knowledge, resources, suggestions for self-improvement, and the ability to hit the ground running and start implementing your learnings immediately.

About Cathy Chen

Cathy Chen, CPCC, MA specializes in coaching tech leaders enabling development of their own skills in leading teams. SCathy has held technical management positions at Google, New Edge Networks, Global Crossing and AOL and she is a frequent internal workshop facilitator at Google in engineering leadership, coaching, and Crucial Conversations™ She has a masters degree in Organizational Psychology from Teacher's College at Columbia University and marries impeccable hands-on geek cred with up-to-the-minute, research-backed, organizational theory including group dynamics from a systems perspective, organizational change, executive coaching, and the ever-popular—because ever-necessary—managing conflict in organizations.
